Last weekend Bristol Harbour Festival took place in Bristol Harbourside and lots of different places around the city with an eclectic mix of music, artists, circus acts, dance stages, fireworks and much more! It was one of the nicest festivals I have ever seen. And with 250 000 people visiting it over the three days, it was also a huge one! In fact this year it attracted the most people in the 39 year history of the event.
Organised by Bristol City Council, the Bristol Harbour Festival is one of the most-loved and most diverse festivals in the South West of England and also one of the biggest events in the country of it’s kind. Bristol’s city centre harbour comes alive with music, dance, circus, ships and boats, markets and fireworks for this amazing weekend spectacle.
Here’s my photo-reportage from Bristol Harbour Festival:

Welcome to Bristol Harbour Festival
Guys chillin’ at the Harbourside
And ladies also…
One of the nicest places of the festival
Wish I had money to buy a balloon…
Mario: Queen of the Circus was the main star here..
Meanwhile at Bristol Harbourside
Lot’s of places to go
Some kind of self-portraiture.. :)
Almost all city centre streets for pedestrians only..
Doctor Deans Flea Circus.. I’t was very crowded there so I didn’t really see if there where any fleas or that’s just a name
That vas very lovely singing. Sad I can’t remember her name..
Returning to Circus Stage where Cirque Bijou were performing
Most of the performers there were exceptionally good! Like this guy on a rope.
Mario the Queen of Circus again. He really is a born showman, one of the best I have ever seen! Highly recommend to see one of his performances.
The Black Eagles.. Acrobats from Africa. An awesome performance. The crowd loved them.
In Bristol’s Queen Square there are always lot’s of people, especially students, but this weekend…well, there were a little bit more people then usual.. :)
I guess the following photos might need some explanation. What’s going on there is called balloon tossing and the idea is – how far you can throw a balloon (filled with water) before it breaks.. So that’s how it looks
Here comes this year’s balloon tossing winners
This guy wasn’t performing on Harbour Festival’s stage.. Instead he is performing every weekend at Broadmead, city centre.
That’s it! Let’s PLAY again in next year’s Bristol Harbour Festival! See You there!
And yes, by the way, Nikon rules.. :D

Hi, I’m Julian from Cirque Bijou (the unshaven one in the sunglasses) and I run Cirque Bijou and we would love a copy of some if not all of the pics of our stage. please let me know how we can go about that.
Really great shots and hard to capture
Thanks
Julian
Hey,
I love your pics, thay are awesome!
Im the guy on the rope and i was just wondering if i’d be able to use the photographs of me you took as they are just amazing. I’d credit you for them wherever i used them and would love to see any more if you have any. You did an amazing job what with circus being infamously hard to photograph.
Thank you very much,
Steven
Julian sent these over to me for a look and I agree they are fantastic, they have brought big smile to my face, it was a great weekend and you have captured that.
Good job.
Phill
Some of the best photos I have seen from the Harbour Festival. To capture the huge crowds, atmospheree and acts is amazing – thank you!
