This time I’d like to share a special photo-reportage with you - not as usual from wedding, but something a bit different this time… This September guys from Cirque Bijou invited me to capture some of the action in Broadmead – Bristol’s central shopping and entertainment area. The action this time was all about biking and breakdancing.
Cirque Bijou were commissioned by Cycling city & Bristol City Council to create a afternoon of cycling events. Cirque Bijou created a battle between some of the world’s best breakdancers, BMX-ers and mountain-bikers, as well as programming a street theatre show called “Breaking the cycle” which was a great fun! Here’s some of the breakdancing and cycling action I captured that day..
Some amazing breakdancing:
Bboy Chuck (aka Charles Denton) – this guy really knows his thing!
Next: Nadia / Nadz Lumley
And once more Bboy Chuck (aka Charles Denton)
Followed by BMX performance by James White and Keelan Phillips
Next – some truly spectacular cycling based demonstrations from Andrei Burton – one of the top elite trials riders from the UK. This guy is simply incredible! I had never seen such stunts performed on a bike..
Andrei Burton was then joined by another guy called Joe Hodges who was performing on a monocycle
The event was hosted by Audible – an amazing beatboxer..
Photos alone are not enough this time – you need to hear this guy in action! I took a short video with my phone..
“Breaking the cycle” - a street theatre show was following at the end.
This girl was obviously very keen to be photographed.. :)
That’s it for a great show featured by: Audible (beatbox), Bboy Chuck (aka Charles Denton), Bgirl Nadiz Lumley, Bboy Diz1, Andrei Burton (Trials mountain bike), James White and Keelan Phillips (Flatland BMX)
For those who want to see even more from this event, check out the full gallery here.
Thanks to Cirque Bijou for inviting me there and for organising such a great event!
