Featured in ‘Best Wedding Photography of 2011’ by ISPWP

International Society of  Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) has just published their prestige ‘Best Wedding Photography of 2011’ list and I’m very happy to be one of the featured photographers on this list!

The ISPWP holds a wedding photography contest four times a year. Each contest has 20 different categories and over the four quarterly contests it adds up to 80 First Place winners for the entire year – the ‘Best Wedding Photography’ list features all of those winning photos. I won the 1st place on ‘humor’ category last summer, when a photo from Paul and Becky’s wedding was awarded.

Hugh & Helen, Grafton Manor, UK

My this years second wedding was taking place in Grafton Manor, located in Bromsgrove near Birmingham and the happy couple’s names were Hugh and Helen. It was my first time shooting at Grafton Manor – it’s a special house, both luxury hotel and family home located in a picturesque countryside of Bromsgrove.

Hugh and Helen’s wedding was full of fun with lot’s of dancing involved, as you can see in photos towards the end of the post. The speeches were also great, especially the best man’s speech which involved a few elements and handouts photos of which I can’t share with you. :) Overall the evening part was amazing!

Ian J - Wicked stuff as always Martins, love the shot from below of the brides dress being strung up, very clever :)

David & Natasha, Leigh Court, UK

2012’s wedding season is now in full swing and I’d like to share the first of this years wedding with you my dear reader. It took place in the Leigh Court in Abbots Leigh near Bristol in March this year. Although I am myself based in Bristol, it was my first time shooting in the magnificent Leigh Court which is one of the grandest local wedding venues. Just check out the hall where the ceremony took place…

David and Natasha are an amazing couple and suit each other perfectly. They are both doctors and saving people’s lives in their everyday work. In fact there were more then just a few doctors in the wedding party, it would probably be possible to set up a small hospital if needed. :)
Natasha and David are also (almost) my neighbours and live just around the corner from me, so that gave us a good chance to have a pint in local pub a few times before the wedding. They’re such a sweet couple an I wish them all the best in their married life together!

Misha Taunton - Your photos are very intimate and lend themselves toward the documentary style of wedding photography and you are definitely good at it. The selective way in which you use colour also makes your work stand out. I will be back to see more!

Antony Turner - Absolutely fantastically photographed! All are very good but my fav has to be the selective focus shot of the bride and father through the banisters.

ISPWP photo contest results are here

Results of the latest ISPWP international wedding photography contest are just out and it is again good news for me – my photo has been recognised in the very competitive “Ceremony” category. 9th place might not seem too high, but knowing that the very best wedding photographers around the world are taking place and the level of competition is very high, I am truly proud to have been recognised in yet another top level photography competition. Time to celebrate!

Ibiza

No weddings this time, just Ibiza … October last year we decided to take some time off the weddings and to escape the lovely english weather, so we headed to sunny Ibiza where we were lucky enough to enjoy temperatures as high as +32 degrees (in October!!!) and generally fell in love with Ibiza! As the aim was to take a rest from wedding photography and photography in general, I shouldn’t had brought my camera with me.. but that didn’t happen.. :) Although for most of the time I managed to leave my camera to rest in the hotel while enjoying the lovely Ibiza, I still couldn’t help myself to take it with me at least on few occasions.

I’ll definitely will be returning to Ibiza and hopefully will be doing some wedding photography in Ibiza too.

Featured: Bristol & Somerset Wedding Magazine

I’m very excited for one of my weddings to be featured in latest “Your Bristol and Somerset Wedding” magazine (Feb/Mar 2012 issue) where you can find the amazing Guy and Gemini’s Maunsel House wedding. It was one of my last years favourite weddings and definitely deserves the feature in magazine! and it looks soo good in print. Get a copy and see for yourselves! (available in all good newsagents!).
