This morning I woke up to some very good news.. it appears, I have won a 1st place on ISPWP (The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers) contest under “Humor” category. A photo from Paul and Becky’s wedding was recognised. A few months ago I was very happy to join ISPWP and therefore the best award-winning wedding photographers in the world, now I am even happier to have won a contest within this organisation! The competition was quite tough as there were loads of truly great photos submitted. See for yourselves.

Earlier this year I was visiting Latvia, which is in eastern Europe, to do a destination wedding photography of Mathias and Ance. They are such a lovely and cheerful couple and I truly enjoyed spending the day with them! Mathias is originally from Germany and that is also where they both live now. However, as Ance was born in Latvia, they chose to hold their wedding there. It turned out to be such a fun-filled day! See for yourselves… ;)

Today I have a special treat for you… Few weeks back I was visiting the magnificent Maunsel House in Somerset to do the photography of Ben and Gemma’s wedding! I know, nothing in life is really perfect, but honestly, this wedding was very close to that… even the smallest details were thought through very carefully, which made the day to be really amazing! Ohh, and did I mentioned the venue..!? Maunsel House is one of the most quirkiest and most amazing wedding venues I have ever been, filled with medieval things, huge paintings, stuffed animals, etc., even the pub is decorated with armory and all those hundreds of birds cheering around the venue definitely adds a lot to it… Altogether, it was really something special.. Today I’d like to share with you an absolutely beautiful wedding I had the pleasure to attend a few weeks ago. The wedding of Eleanor and Mark was a bit like taken from a fairytale – they got married in the lovely Herefordshire which is an absolutely amazing place for celebration of the wedding! and then there’s the couple – they were such a naturals.. Mark was a bit reluctant at beginning to have a newlywed photo-session, but after we started and I showed some of the photos to him in my camera, he finally realised he is a real male supermodel and so we got carried away with photography so much we missed a bit of the reception… :)
Mark and Eleanor’s wedding took place in amazing How Caple Court in Herefordshire, but we started the day in nearby village of Fownhope where wedding party was getting ready for the ceremony. I couldn’t notice father of the bride looking so proud about her daughter getting married. He had polished his Rolls-Royce to a point it looked like brand new and he later very proudly chauffeured her daughter to the church.

Just to give you a few key-words for the wedding you are about to see – sleepy Gloucestershire village, bouncy castle, VW camper van for transport, then, for the evening party - bride dressed as Madonna and the groom transformed to Slash himself, Mr. Simon Cowell, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Amy Winehouse among the wedding guests, most of them later singing rock’n'roll with live band… now tell me, doesn’t it sound like the most fun at the wedding…? :)

I met Paul and Rebecca a few months back to talk through their wedding plans and I immediately understood – their wedding is gonna be quite special! The sheer excitement in their eyes when they talked about their wedding and showed me some snapshots of their wedding venue, the Manor House Hotel.. And I was right, the wedding really was special – the attention to details, the venue, the picturesque Gloucestershire village Moreton-in-Marsh, the car… oh yes, the car… it was one of the finest Rolls Royce’s I have ever seen.. – everything just fitted in perfectly to make the big day of Paul and Becky unforgettable! I’m glad I was a part of their day and hopefully I managed to capture Paul and Becky’s day just the way it was.. See for yourselves.

There are not many photographer’s associations out there worth joining, as most of them requires only a cheque to be received once a year and that’s about it – the value of such associations is close to nothing. However, there are a few organisations worldwide where only the finest photography is accepted! One of them is ISPWP - The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers and I am very proud to have just been approved as a member by ISPWP among the best wedding photographers in the world!
From ISPWP website:
“The International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers (ISPWP) is a rarity among wedding photography organisations. Photographers cannot simply buy an ISPWP membership, they have to earn it.
Our requirements are experience, talent, and professionalism. To be accepted, a photographer must have shot at least 50 weddings, submit their portfolio for review, agree to operate under the ISPWP Code of Conduct, and have an ISPWP Sponsor or four references. And THEN they have to be voted in by current members.
In short, when you hire an ISPWP Photographer, you are hiring a talented veteran with a track record, peer recognition, and a passion for creating heirloom images of your wedding.”
“…We’re picky. Most online wedding photography directories are simply glorified yellow pages that anyone can join if they simply pay the fee. Experienced pros could be listed alongside someone who just bought their first camera, took a few pictures at their cousin’s wedding, and put up a website. The ISPWP is an exclusive organisation of truly experienced professionals for discerning clientele. Our requirements in the areas of experience, talent, integrity, and professionalism set us apart. We will never compromise our standards just to get more members. If that means we remain small and exclusive, so be it.”
