Andrew and Sarah’s wedding took place in Bristol, not in one venue, but two – first there was a wedding ceremony and reception in the Merchant’s Hall in Clifton area of Bristol and later we headed to St. Georges Hall for another reception followed by wedding breakfast (never really understood why it’s called “breakfast” even when it takes place on the evening) and some wild partying afterwards – that was pure Rock’n’Roll, just have a look at some of the photos at the end of the post! :)
A bit more on the venues and how we got there. Merchant’s Hall, located just a stones throw from Brunels’ famous suspension bridge in Bristol, is home to the Society of Merchant Venturers, established in 1552. A man by the name of Winston Churchill being one of the members. It was my first wedding in in Merchant’s Hall even though I live 10 mins from the venue and I loved every bit of it!
The second venue was St. Georges Hall in central Bristol, which I know very well as I have photographed at least three weddings there already with another wedding coming up the week after this one. I loved returning to St. Georges’ Hall and it provided me with a good chance of grabbing some amazing photos, especially from the party bit at the end!
And thirdly, there was the transport, which was a big vintage bus from old times, green in colour and called “Bristol”. I think I have seen one of those in the Bristol “M Shed” museum, so I know we had a proper piece from history driving us around Bristol. The bus even managed to climb some very steep hills on our way from couple’s home to Merchant’s Hall.
Finally, here are some of Andrew and Sarah’s wedding suppliers: Transport – Crosville Motor Services; Wedding Dress from The Mews Clifton; Make up by Nina Norman; Hairdressers: Escape Hairdressing Bristol; Cake maker – Crumblicious; Ceremony venue: Merchant’s Hall, Bristol; Reception venue: St. George’s Bristol.
