Last month I was doing some amazing destination wedding photography in Cyprus and I am very exited to be sharing the first part of the photos with you. Let’s start with the fact that I absolutely loved Cyprus, I loved the Cyprus wedding and I love the people of Cyprus. So apologies in forward for being overly excited about this. :)
In Cyprus wedding is a truly grand event with lots of people invited and weddings are usually celebrated over two days, which was the case this time as well. The first day of the wedding was the more official part with the Greek Orthodox Wedding ceremony and wedding reception taking place.
The mission for me was to do pure reportage photography – there were no boring group shots which all look the same or anything like that – it was all about documenting the wedding exactly as it was. In fact, I felt like I was just one of the many guests invited to wedding, but only with a few cameras with me. :) It definitely gave me a chance to get closer to people and document the wedding exactly as I wanted.
Oh, and did I mentioned that there were around 2,000 people attending the wedding reception?! Cypriots must be very friendly people indeed! :)
If you are having a wedding in Cyprus and looking for a wedding photographer – do get in touch, I would love to do some more wedding photography in Cyprus!
Off to Elena’s family home next.. A nice Rolls from ‘CoolVintage Limo‘ was waiting at the door.
Arriving at the church for the Greek Orthodox Wedding ceremony.
Ride for the groom.
This is just one small part of the 2,000 strong receiving line for this Cypriot wedding. Amazing!
Cats are not a rarity in Cyprus, in fact there’s lot’s of them around. And they are really helpful with cleaning up any food that has dropped on the floor.
